It’s the last day of the AtoZChallenge – thank you so much for sticking with us. For the letter Z we are asking you to vote on the Ziggiest Zag – or that moment in a story that came right out of left field and shocked you.
- The death of Sirius (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix)
Hands up who thinks this was the most shocking moment in the whole of the Harry Potter series. Through the whole book the character of Sirius is being built up and his relationship with his godson explored and them, bam – he dies! We didn’t see it coming, did you?
or
- The rescue of the boys in Lord of the Flies
Throughout this whole book you have the boys devolving and becoming more and more savage. It builds and builds, with all of them slowly losing themselves to being lost forever. The momentum builds and builds as more and more terrible things happens and then … they are rescued. Did you think they were ever going to be saved? We didn’t.

What is the AtoZChallenge?
For those who don’t know, the AtoZChallenge is a giant blog hop with thousands of blogs taking part. Every day in April, apart from Sundays, these blogs will post using a letter of the alphabet at a prompt, e.g. A on 1st, B on 2nd etc.It has been running since 2010 and was thought up by the lovely Arlee Bird who put out a challenge and it has grown and grown since. It is a superb way to meet other bloggers and to have a huge amount of fun.
Surprised to find that everybody taking the quiz so far agreed with me 🙂

Writer In Transit
I vote for Lord of the Flies. I can barely remember the book. I should have to read it again some time.
