X – Extremest Exit – Literary Smackdown #AtoZChallenge 2016

X - Literary Smackdown
We are but three days from the end of the AtoZChallenge as we take on letter X. For our Literary Smackdown today we are asking you to vote for the Extremest Exit. We have chosen the exit of various characters from two different books and we would like you to vote for the one that shocked you the most.

Who will you vote for in Literary Smackdown

  • The Red Wedding (A Song of Ice and Fire)
This has to be one of the most extreme events in fantasy history where a ridiculous number of people are masacred at a wedding. The cover story is that it is revenge against King Robb for breaking a marriage with House Frey. The wedding becomes a slaughter and it’s all really orchestrated by a Lannister.

or

  • The Death of Boromir (Fellowship of the Ring)
We all know Boromir was struggling against the power of the one ring, but getting himself killed was more than a bit of a shock. Heroes with problems don’t die until they have resolved those problem, but poor Boromir did. I know his death has scarred more than one childhood, and that has to be worth a vote.
Vote for the Extremest Exit:

The Red Wedding (A Song of Ice and Fire)

The Death of Boromir (Fellowship of the Ring)

What is the AtoZChallenge?

For those who don’t know, the AtoZChallenge is a giant blog hop with thousands of blogs taking part. Every day in April, apart from Sundays, these blogs will post using a letter of the alphabet at a prompt, e.g. A on 1st, B on 2nd etc.
It has been running since 2010 and was thought up by the lovely Arlee Bird who put out a challenge and it has grown and grown since. It is a superb way to meet other bloggers and to have a huge amount of fun.
